The Great Invitation

Welcome to our blog that is devoted to bringing souls to Christ. Jesus extended his invitation by saying “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart and ye shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matt. 11:28-30) The Savior’s invitation is one of the most beloved passages in the Bible.

Jesus encourages us to take the opportunity of the great plan of redemption. Everyone outside of Christ labors under the heavy burden of sin and only Christ can impart forgiveness. The “rest” he offers is the relief from the guilt of sin and ultimately leads to the greater rest, Heaven. (Rev. 14:13)

His burden is light in contrast to the burden of sin and its consequences. Man is powerless to save himself. The Gospel is our only hope.

Future blogs will cover how to accept Christ’s invitation.
